Renewable Resources
MSCPA is committed to utilizing renewable energy resources and has developed plans to meet the state of Michigan’s Renewable Portfolio Standards (RPS), through a combination of generation projects. The Agency’s renewable generation assets include multiple hydro generation facilities as well as the revolutionary use of Fractionated Tire Fuel.
Hydro will lead the way as MSCPA’s primary renewable energy resource. By 2015, the Agency will be receiving power from eight different hydro generating facilities.
